It gets a little on your nerves when you aren’t sure how things will work out eventually, whether it’s home or at work. I’m hopeful for passable grades now.

At work, with the military pushing for a radical change in the creation of new corps, there goes the nine months of stoical trainings we had had in Officer Cadet School. Future is this bleak when there’s nothing you can do to ensure that your career is still as smooth sailing when a bond stipulates where you should go. The press releases by the defense ministry seemed to promise attractive remuneration packages that are pegged against the private sector. Still, you know how these promises can be scholar-biased most of the time; let’s see what’s in for us during the briefing this coming Monday.

At home, parents are not rendering an ounce of support on the notion of getting a bike as primary transport. I know, which parents will. I understand and have given enough thought on how worried parents will get. And it’ll not be exactly filial of me to put them through that kind of emotional burden. Don’t ask me how much I wanted the bike, for I know nuts about motor-transports and automobiles. The idea of ownership and pure practicality appeals to me more than appearing excessive suave on the roads.

I even went to the extent of googling for “Does God approve of bike riding” for possible biblical references.

See, this is the epitome of the kind of moral struggle I mentioned, whichever decision I finally decided upon, someone’s getting unhappy.

I’m thankful that I’m not undergoing any major life crisis over here. These brain wars are enough to keep me busy for quite some time now.

Hi Rene, didn’t consider the off-peak car, still too expensive when compared next to the bike. I was evaluating how long am I going to use this as a primary transport. As for now, the lack of support from parents irked me.

    I thought of ????… hahaha
But yes… it’s part of them saying, “yes, you can go learn” that makes me reluctant to do that.
