I’ve just had a textual altercation with the mother on the bike issue. It didn’t go beyond three messages, but the impact was felt. Selection of words weren’t any close to being harsh, but the sheer nonchalance from the mother affected me.

The government definitely deserved our praise for being efficient at perpetuating their national agendas through their shrewd use of mass media — they painted bike riding as a culture that’s subversive; that automobiles and motorcycles belong to a dichotomy, with the latter belonging to a culture that’s considered a minority.

It’s always about big cars, but none gives a hoot about big bikes. I know this article has somehow degraded to a querulous one.

Problem is, thinking logically can’t seem to work for me now and I probably need fresh perspectives from experienced riders (email me eh?). I’m afraid that the unhealthy discourse that’s happening between my parents and me will eventually result in ramifications which I haven’t given thoughts to.

I wouldn’t want to take up this skill without them first agreeing in particular because the last thing to happen will be for this to be a part of an occasional family-heated argument.

I want to be absolutely sure about this.
