It ended with quite a bang. With chocolates as door gifts, Old Chang Kee finger food, Tau Huay from Selegie and Starbucks vouchers as lucky draw prizes.

Last week, the block ended the month long Angel and Mortal game organized by Benson at the block’s lounge. Everyone picked a name randomly from the box and you’ve got yourself a mortal instantaneously. The main gist of the game was to break the ice and get to know your block members better.

And for personal reasons, I didn’t participate to reduce the probability of getting a mortal whom I so much wanted to avoid. The last time I played Angel and Mortal was the Lake Kenyir trip I had while I was still a secondary two kid. The game then was made simpler; all we needed to do was to send our mortals encouraging notes.

The game we have had in our block was played differently. Instead of encouraging notes, everyone tried so hard to conceal their identities by writing in doctors’ handwriting and substandard English and Chinese, sending everyone into a frantic search and guess for their holy angels. I didn’t know the contents of their notes they received, but I happened to receive two letters from mysterious individuals. And they turned out to be people I talked to everyday.
