And you thought reformatting the Sony VAIO was a laborious task, not until reformatting your hard drive as a dual boot PC with Windows Vista and XP become your favourite pastime. I had the luxurious opportunity to experience it since yesterday, when one of my lab exercises couldn’t run as expected on the Vista machine. At the same time, I have grown so attached to the wows and hyper hype of Vista that I just couldn’t let it go; if only every operating system in the market is as elegant as Apple’s Leopard.
So I spent the previous night trying all sorts of combinations and partitioning software and the entire experience ended off with me wasted on my bed with a very expensive machine that couldn’t boot up correctly into either of the Microsoft’s acclaimed operating system of uselessness. If I had the kind of spending power, I would have all my desktops running Mac Pros, but alright, I am waking up on this.
In the end, I missed Eugene Ho’s farewell gathering at the airport because I had to rush the installation and get to work by tomorrow, if not, I’ll be badly behind time.
To make matters worse, lecturers who are supposed to make installations and dissemination of information painless did a poor job by appearing dumb to students’ requests.
