Chinese New Year Eve was spent at a lower profile this year comparing to last year’s hype at Chinatown. The family actually planned to catch Ah Long Pte Ltd, a much awaited local production by Jack Neo, on the first day of the lunar new year, but yours truly made it happened earlier than what’s planned for – shucks, I miscalculated the dates. I booked tickets for the 6th of February instead of 7th.

In the end, we had only 10 mins to midnight when the movie ended. This was the first time I shouted “Happy New Year” in the car on Benjamin Sheares Bridge.Anyways, since we already planned to catch a movie on the 7th, we caught Kungfu Dunk the very next day.

Watching movies on Chinese New Year seemed to be part of the family’s annual routine, and in fact, it is the only time the family gathered at the big screen each year.
